Landmark Missionary Baptist Church at Hayward

Welcome to Missionary Baptist Church

Welcome to The Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, organized March 1944 under the direction of Elder Reuben Young Blalock, sent out by The Franklin Street Baptist Church of Kentucky.  Gathering members [known as " Trunk Baptists" who carried church letters releasing them from membership from churches to unite with Baptist churches of like faith and order within reasonable time] a small group of scriptural candidates read articles of faith, with a church covenant.  Upon motion and second, the group voted to become The Missionary Baptist Church of Oakland, CA and called Elder H.C. Redmond as pastor.  He led the church to incorporate in California on March 5, 1945.  Our New Hampshire Confession of Faith, coupled with certain business meeting procedures comprise d the Articles of  Incorporation.  Brother Redmond's respect for the Articles of Faith led the church to stave uncertainties and heresies found today in churches who know not "the things most surely believed" among ancient Calvinistic Baptists. [Luke 1:1].  Hayward church has not deviated, nor has she compromised to declare and defend "the whole counsel of God".  We welcome all, catering or compromising to none, submitting to the rule of one master---Jesus Christ the LORD.  We  teach and preach from the King James version of the scriptures. Please feel free to email our pastor (Dr. Tarleton P. Crawford) at mbcoakland@yahoo.com .  We are located at 573 Bartlett Avenue, Hayward, California 94541-3651.  Please feel free to come and worship with us.

Updates January 20, 2008

Prayer List & Church News...Our Wednesday Prayer Meeting was blessed with the salvation of yet another former "I-just-don't-feel-like-being-saved" precious soul.  Jan Miller Murphy was witnessed to and prayed for many years.  Affliction, losses and operation in God's mighty arm brought us to spend more time.  She called her aunt [Sister Pat Miller] last Tuesday with "Aunt Pat, I've been saved".....We continue to pray for Mark & Mel Crawford family who spent time with Pedro at home this week.  Our Crawfords have been operating over a 100 mile circuit family--part at the Hospital, part at home with many nights in two locations over 50 miles apart.  Let's pray for God's mighty hand to intervene with healing mercies and for Pedro's medical staff...Pray for  a Revival of Acts' proportions.

Pray For Pastor Cecil Fayard of Elliott Baptist Church Jan. 09, 2008, W. L. Brown [COPIED FROM carmichaelbaptist.org]

[This is copied from Pr. Bill Brown, Carmichael Baptist Church. Pray for Br.Fayard]

Another Wednesday morning call was received, this time from Denise Fayard, Brother Fayard's dear wife. She informed me that Dr. Fayard is in the V. A. Hospital in Memphis, TN. He has had some health concerns for some time and found out that his gall bladder seems to have died and caused internal infections and a lot of other complications. I've talked to Brother Cecil by phone.  He told me they removed the gall bladder Christmas Eve but have not been able to correct the damage done as of yet. Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, Jan. 10th to try and put a stint in and control the problem by draining away the  bile. He is hoping to be released in a couple of days after surgery. Pray with us for him, his family and Elliott Baptist Church.

Update! Brother Fayard's surgery went well. The doctor's were able to put in the stint and, with a minimal amount of seepage, drain away the bile into his stomach and put him on the road to recovery. I talked with Brother Fayard this morning (01/11/08) and he was able to eat some grits and toast and is now ready be released once the doctor's give him an okay. Pray the work they did will allow his body and the stint to heal and repair all the damage done to his body. [As of 1/12 we are informed Bro. Fayard has been released.  Keep him and family in your prayers.]

Newest Updates

12-21-2007 Our service people are reporting they are safe and we thank God and pray for them.  Pedro Randall Crawford, son of Brother Mark and Sister Melanie Crawford in Texas, has endured a vigorous round of chemotherapy in a successful aggressive medical attempt to combat a very rare cancer.  Bo, Mel, we are praying for your health as you drive those distances, sleep those few odd hours in hospital conditions to be with your little boy. [This family has two boys in Iraq, a graduating senior, and a grown daughter, husband and grandson, and do not forget Pablo, Pedro's twin brother.]  May God's Grace prevail...THE FIFTH SATURDAY MEETING AT FRIENDSHIP MBC IS DECEMBER 29TH, 10 PM...My grandson, Tarleton 4, was completely run over by two women in a van last Thursday evening.  He was discharged from the hospital and went to church with me last Sunday, but is back under treatment.  I thank God for his blessings over our Crawford family---He's been mighty good and extra protective...HAVE YOU NOTICE SnOME DELETIONS ON THE WEBPAGE?  Due to our monitoring and lack of use, certain things have been taken.    I appreciate the hard working daughters of this pastor who serve their LORD and assist me.
